An extension of Penn’s Fragile Fight 100 project, the artist will select a number of works in his nuclei series to be installed outside of the traditional gallery aesthetic.

Inspired by the origins of the species in focus and its relationship with mankind throughout history, Penn will elevate the work’s conservation-led visual by using the animal’s natural environment as an exhibition space; with the intention of exaggerating its fragility.

To achieve this, each skeletal nucleus will be fused with the natural palette of the animal’s habitat and displayed in a location endemic to the species. A challenging endeavour, the sheer scale of the project and the undertaking involved in everything from the works’ fabrication to its display, highlights the scale of the global conservation effort that is necessary to protect our earth’s diverse natural habitats.
